I wrote this earlier today and finally had a chance to jump on and share it…

Well we are on our way to Raleigh right now for another very important adoption appointment!! I think I say that a lot, but at this point in our adoption, there are a lot of important appointments! Each one gets us closer and closer, which means closer and closer to sharing the juicy details with you! 😉 I’ll be honest, I’m a bit nervous about this one, but I’m also very excited! Appointments like this make everything more real and remind me there is an end in sight! And you see, this is how cool God is……five years ago on this day, we were meeting our baby girl for the first time! Holding her sweet hands, kissing her cuddly cheeks for the very first time!! Those first moments with her were a whirlwind because we were horribly jet-lagged but they were also some of the most incredible moments we’ve ever experienced. Kind of like now….on the threshold of welcoming another precious little one into our family, it’s feelings I can’t describe except to say, “Wow God!”. He is so good and faithful! Always! Even when my faith wavered and I felt hopeless, He was still there, working things together for our good. Even when I thought my plans, my way, my timing was perfect, He proved why He is God and I am not. Because His plans, His ways, His timing is perfect and even better than I could have imagined! God intricately wove together the strands of these very moments that we are standing in and it was during some of the hardest times of my life…..if only I could have seen what He was up to. then. But that is faith right? The evidence of things unseen. And even when I didn’t see what God was doing, I knew I could trust Him. I had faith He would fulfill His promise, just like He always has. And looking at where we are now and where we were five years ago, just proves He is not a man that He should lie! HE is good!

In honor of today, here are some pictures from the first time we met her. We didn’t get to celebrate big because we were running around, but we sure ended the day with lots of laughs, tickles, cuddles and kisses. The best way to celebrate our growing little family. 😀
